Here are two pages that allow us to understand and remember British film director Gabriel Pascal (1894 – 1954) and the admirable sticktoitiveness quality that was possessed by all the souls who were associated with the 1940 production "Major Barbara".

Much of the article is composed of diary entries by an anonymous member of the cast:

"Got in a good morning's take before the sirens went off at 12:20... After dinner we had a script conference off the lot and kept on working through the air raid sirens, relieved to be away from the studio discipline. Tonight the sky was one vast blaze of searchlights, and no sleep for anyone. It's tough staying up all night and trying to work between raids all day, but [the director] says damn the bombs, we'll finish the picture."

More about W.W. II Hollywood can be read here.
