This small notice was posted near the end of a 1939 NEWSWEEK MAGAZINE and it reported on the conclusions reached by a plethora of respected minds from the worlds of business and academia as to how events like the Great Depression can be avoided in the future. Perhaps the editors chose to place the column where they did was based on the fact that the offered advice was no different from the remarks made by most of the presidential critics of the previous ten years.

Yet, regardless of the degradation of the Great Depression, the United States was still an enormously wealthy nation...
