A post-game dispatch from the Second World War appeared on the pages of a 1949 issue of QUICK MAGAZINE reporting that the weapons laboratories of Imperial Japan had been developing a ray gun throughout much of the war. When they realized that the war was lost and occupation was in their only future, they tossed the gizmo in a nearby lake.
The Associated Press filed the column posted below in 1942.
