Everyone who has ever seriously pursued the study of German Army uniforms of the Nineteenth and early Twentieth centuries has had to refer to this book at one time or another. Written in German and illustrated with over 34 color drawings, this book has become a classic with its text and illustrations reproduced in many books during the course of the last 100 years.
The book provides detailed information and schematic illustrations as to the uniform colors and fabric for each regiment, pickelaub insignias and the unique headgear and coloring of each service branch that is represented in the trim. There are illustrations of each of the the E.M. regimental shoulder insignias from the numerous German principalities (Prussian, Saxon, Brunswick, etc, etc). The book is not in good shape but it is clearly serviceable as a handy reference guide; the pages are still sturdy although water stained, as the attached images clearly indicate.
