Posted on the right is an article about the unintended consequences that ensue when the morality police ban books that, in their eyes, will corrupt our youth and degrade society's splendid ethical code:

"In 1948, Philadelphia police began seizing books from publishers as well as booksellers and subsequently started criminal proceedings against them. Nine books which had been indicted, including Sanctuary and Wild Palms by William Faulkner and Studs Lonigan Trilogy and A World I Never Made by James T. Farrell... Today these authors are so respected that most college students are puzzled to learn of the trouble that greeted these books when originally published."

The Holy Bible, the book that has been banned the most throughout history, and sold the most copies (five billion) is not mentioned.

Additional articles about books and authors can be read here.
