On the right is a 1941 photo-essay illustrating the Nazi presence in Latin America:

"The Chilean Defense League reports 5,060,000 Italians, 1,385,400 German and 200,000 Japanese in South America. The Nazis, spread around more than any other Axis nationals, are regarded as [the] most dangerous. Hitler has settled 13,100 agents in Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador within easy striking distance of the Panama Canal."
